Fr. Mario Marin, 2006 – 2014

Father Mario Marin was appointed Pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Parish in 2006 after serving as Assistant Pastor at St. Patrick’s Parish in Vancouver for four years. He received his ordination in Vancouver in 2002 after completing his studies in Rome.

At St. Anthony’s, he instituted measures to implement the recommendations of the Synod Report leading to such endeavors as establishment of a Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). The PPC has organized Bible studies and Guidelines for all participants in the Liturgy among other successful endeavors. He formed a Building Committee and Fundraising Committee to take the first steps in building a Parish Centre for St. Anthony’s that will include a gymnasium for the students at the school, and meeting and gathering facilities for the parish. He actively supported the start of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Women’s League in the parish.

“St. Anthony’s is rich in cultural diversity and a very supportive community wishing to grow in Faith.”

Fr. Mario was transferred to St. Luke’s Parish in Maple Ridge, effective July 10, 2014.
